There are some beautiful things happening in my yard right now. I like to think this is our reward for making it through the long winter. Bulbs don't flower down south, you know. They need at least two weeks of freezing temps to reset themselves. So, after a miserable, cold, gray winter, nature hands us this gift. Enjoy!
So pretty. I have one tulip plant that is a pretty shade of red. I got 4 pretty blooms off of it but the freeze made the flowers turn like they are dying a slow death,
ReplyDeleteSpectacular colors! Unfortunately there's nothing like this in west TX. All I have are weeds.
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS. Just stunning.
ReplyDeleteOh ~ they're beautiful! I always have trouble with the squirrels digging up my tulips. I know I should have put a screen over them when planting - live and learn. Do you have trouble with critters getting at the bulbs?
ReplyDeleteI have had some rodent activity, but there are so many bulbs it hasn't mattered. One thing I did learn early on, though: I don't plant my bulbs in rows or other patterns. So if a squirrel does dig one up, it doesn't leave a noticeable gap ~
DeleteThose are just beautiful. I have one tulip plant so I got 3 blossoms out of that. Now I have Iris blooming but have not been out to get a good look. will try to make it out today. Take care and don't work to hard.
