A River View

Miss Diva and I went for a stroll along this lovely little river last weekend.  The water is high this year, with more current that we normally see.  Someone has been gardening on our side of the water.  You can see a bit of the hosta patch in the foreground.  This spot must not be popular with the local deer, as they generally seem to regard hosta as a salad bar planted just for their enjoyment.

A Frozen Watery Wednesday, Outdoors

Not sure what's going on with our wild weather, but this week we were treated to a freak spring snowstorm. And storm it did - about eight inches of heavy, wet snow blanketed the landscape, shut down schools, and snarled traffic.  Here, bits of snow and ice are caught in a lilac bush that had started to bud out.

Heavy Dew

Still Blooming

One of my favorite local parks includes a Friendship Garden, which features plants, statues, and fixtures from our sister cities around the world. I was surprised to see so many flowers in bloom this late in the season. This beauty was floating in a little pond.

After the Storm

We had yet another thunderstorm overnight. My overnight co-conspirator at the office job had his weather radio on and we pretty much had continuous chirping all night. Finally, as the sun was coming up, the rain stopped and we were left with this:




Pretty, huh? Now all we need is some blue sky....

Muir Woods Creek

On a recent trip to California, Walker and I drove to the ancient redwood forest known as Muir Woods. We lucked out – it was Veteran’s Day, and admission to this national park was waived. Wahoo! The forest was cool, shady, and quiet except for bird calls and the sound of water bubbling nearby. Thirty minutes or so into our walk, we came to a footbridge over this little stream.

My first photo meme was posted last Friday. Piece of cake. This one.....not so much. When I click on my name in Mr Linky it shows my photo but not my blog. My photo looks all pixelated. Weird cause it looks great in my web album. Sigh. Anyone have a link to a good tutorial?
